The smallest member of the adventurous Bronco family, the Ford Bronco Sport offers adventure-seekers a welcoming invitation to take the path less traveled. Customization options for the Bronco Sport include four individual packages along with over 100 factory-backed standalone accessories to help you reflect a personality as unique as your own.
As part of Built Wild™ Extreme Durability Testing, the Bronco Sport was tested in extreme conditions in places such as the Johnson Valley desert in California to deliver unmatched off-road durability and performance. Featuring both brains and brawn, you’ll also have access to standard SYNC® 3 which includes FordPass Connect™ with 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity. A selection of class-exclusive interior amenities helps solidify the position of the Ford Bronco Sport as a formidable contender among off-road-focused compact SUVs.
“Inside, the Bronco Sport boasts an attractive design and a plethora of popular features. The little ute also has an impressive amount of space and several neat innovations. While its wheelbase is shorter than the Escape, the baby Bronco has an upright seating position and a decent amount of rear-seat legroom.” — Car and Driver
“However, this bite-size adventure-mobile provides ample appeal with thoughtful features, a fun design, and legitimate off-road capability. Our First Drive featured seriously gnarly away-from-pavement driving, and the Bronco Sport delivered performance we wouldn’t expect from any stock crossover.” — MotorTrend
The Bronco Sport carries over mostly unchanged for 2023, but there is still some exciting news. Ford has added two new Heritage editions. These give the Bronco Sport a number of visual touches reminiscent of the original 1966 model, as well as unique badging. These are separate trims, but basically work as appearance packages for existing trims. With the Heritage Edition being based on the Big Bend trim, and the Heritage Limited Edition being based on the Badlands trim.
Engineered with off-road performance at its core, the Bronco Sport has the strength to help you get out and explore. You’ll have your choice of two engine options — a 1.5-liter EcoBoost® with 181 horsepower or an available 2.0-liter EcoBoost® with 250 horsepower. Regardless of engine, all models come standard with a 4X4 system and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Badlands and First Edition models pack an advanced 4×4 system with a class-exclusive twin-clutch rear-drive unit with a differential lock feature. Conquer any obstacle in your way with the Terrain Management System with up to seven G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Terrain) Modes. Standard modes include Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Sand. Class-exclusive Trail Control™ technology is another optional feature on the Bronco Sport which can enable vehicle-controlled throttle and braking on the trails. This rugged SUV even offers maximum water wading clearance of up to 23.6 inches.
Human-centric and purpose-built for adventure — the Bronco Sport stands out with its upright design and safari-style roof. A flip-glass rear window, low-load floor cargo area, and overlanding-ready roof rack are a few examples of how its clever engineering adds capability. Its signature encapsulated cartridge grille, round headlamps, clean, flat bodysides, and timeless proportions clearly illustrate the lineage to its larger Bronco sibling. You can easily transform your Bronco Sport into basecamp with an innovative slide-out working table, part of the available five-way configurable Cargo Management System. Since the party doesn’t end at sundown, there’s also a class-exclusive 400-watt inverter and liftgate floodlamps that illuminate up to 129 square feet. Bronco Sport buyers can also choose from any of the four lifestyle accessory bundles themed Bike, Snow, Water, and Camping.
When you need to escape from the wilderness, the cabin of the Ford Bronco Sport offers comfortable space that’s also packed with innovative features. In addition to best-in-class first- and second-row headroom, the cargo area even has the space to accommodate two standing 27.5-inch-wheel mountain bikes with the available Yakima dealer-installed interior bike rack accessory.
Helping you stay connected even when you’re miles away from home, you’ll have access to the standard SYNC® 3 system with an 8-inch touchscreen and compatibility with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. Available rubber flooring throughout the cabin and cargo area, easy-to-clean cloth seating surfaces, and silicone-sealed control switches add rugged functionality to the interior. Since even the best drivers can use a helping hand from time to time, the Bronco Sport also includes the standard Ford Co-Pilot360™ suite of advanced driver-assist technologies.
