Will a Ford Ranger Raptor Ever Come to San Bernardino?

This week, Ford Australia wowed the world by releasing test footage of a Ranger Raptor prototype.

The Ford Ranger will be returning to the U.S. in 2019 after a long hiatus, but has never gone out of production globally. And apparently, in the land down under, Ford has been developing the mid-size pickup into a smaller version of the high-performance F-150 Raptor.

The Ranger Raptor looks right at home tearing up the Australian desert, but now the question is, will we ever get to own one?

San Bernardino, pressed snugly against the hills, is home to more than a few off-road enthusiasts who would love to get their hands on a truck that's just as capable of pulling high-speed maneuvers over desert trails as the F-150 Raptor, but in a more manageable size. We do anticipate the Ranger Raptor will feature a wider track than the base model, but hopefully it won't swallow entire lanes of traffic like its F-150 counterpart.
